Hotel Information

Since 2003 Jim Wagner has been teaching his Reality-Based Personal Protection courses in Manhattan, but over the years the cost of hotels have skyrocketed on the island. That’s why in 2008 Jim Wagner decided to teach on Long Island, New York by teaming up with TommyDiLallo of V-Force Scientific Fighting Concepts. Tommy’s school, Combatives-USA Self-Defense Training Center is only 10 miles from JFK International Airport. The area is surrounded by affordable hotels. What to wear to class for training

Required

Blue jeans or military pants
T-shirt (clean shirt each day)
Socks and tennis shoes (no steel toe boots or footwear with metal clips or buckles)
Protective cup, and protective sports bra for women
Mouth piece (teeth protection)
16 oz. boxing gloves (no open finger MMA gloves)
Elbow protection and Knee protection (skateboard or military type)
Hard shell helmet (skateboard type)

Bottled water
Snacks

Optional

Shin pads
Full face martial arts protective helmet
Bag gloves (recommended for women participants)


Information about the area

New York City is “city that never sleeps.” From JFK Airport you can take the subway into Manhattan. After class have dinner in Little Italy or China Town, or just grab a hot dog from a street cart and walk around Rockefeller Center. Come a day early or stay a day later after the seminar and see sights like the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, the Empire State Building or Ground Zero. There are many attractions to see, and one of the reasons why Jim Wagner teaches in this area once a year.
